A very entertaining game. St Pauli started well with Kalla trying his luck with a lob from 35 yards. He didn't have to wait long for his goal as he headed in after good work from Thy and Rzatkowski. Unfortunately Bochum equalised just 2 minutes later
The game became a midfield scrap as things calmed down but soon there were more chances with Hornschuh, Thy and Sobota playing well before the home side ended the half with a flourish but Himmelmann was relieved to see the ball fall safe after a shot at goal
The second half started well for St Pauli as they harassed the Bochum goal and they were rewarded when Ziereis was fouled in the box. Penalty. Up stepped Lasse Sobiech but he blazed his effort over the bar. Drat
The home side then renewed their assault on the St Pauli goal with first Himmelmann saving and then the crossbar being hit kept the scores at 1-1. The game ended in frantic fashion and the Boys in Brown could have had another penalty in stoppage time as a Kalla cross his a Bochum arm but the ref did not whistle. 1-1 and probably a fair result
